Abstract In strong-field physics experiments with ultraintense lasers, a single-shot cross-correlator (SSCC) is essential for fast optimization of the pulse contrast and meaningful comparison theory each shot. To simultaneously characterize an ultrashort its long pedestal, SSCC device must have both high resolution large temporal window. However, window in all kinds measurement contradict other principle. Here we propose demonstrate novel two separate channels: channel-1 large-window pedestal has moderate but window, while channel-2 small resolution; this allows accurate characterization single A two-channel 200-fs 114-ps been developed tested application lasers at 800 nm.
